Always Learning

The limitations that were placed on learning was due to the lack of resources that people had access to. Back in the days, the only way to learn was going to school and access to libraries or such places. Although, nowadays you can learn anywhere and everywhere because of the world that we live in now, technology is everywhere. You can ask any question and I can give you the answer within 30 seconds or less because I can just google it.

An influencer named Gary Vee mentioned something along the line of how the education system is teaching memorization. Why is the education system still operating that way? Everyone has a phone now which can be used to get the answer to any question, so why is the education system teaching them memorization and not teaching them something they can apply in their life. I agree that Gary made a great point because there are times where I question myself about the things I learn in school. Some of the classes I took in middle/high school never benefited me in any way.

The topic of learning is broad and huge to discuss because there are many gray areas of why we do this and why we don’t do that. It could go on and on for a while if trying to come to one answer only. That’s why I believe that learning is always happening. I remember when an acquaintance of mine said that we are always learning everyday. No matter how much you know and what you know, you are always constantly learning something new everyday. I agree with this because everyday of your life is not the same. You are always doing something different than the day before and you may not notice it, but you are taking in something you heard or saw and making a note of it. It may be something as simple as driving home from work and realizing that if you can get out 10 minutes earlier, you would miss traffic. Learning is everywhere and anywhere.

Connected learning is learning by interactions with others. If kids are always doing what they are told and discouraged to think outside of the box, they won’t learn as much. They would be limited to thinking one way and the same way as everyone else. Interacting with others while learning builds this aura around them and shows off different perspectives that can bring the best out of them. Socializing with one another and encouragement will most likely make the kid want to learn. Building relationships with one another and wanting to learn together.
